We, Kati & Brian, creators of this course and the founders of Overlooked 2 Overbooked, have specialized in optimizing listings for short-term rental hosts since 2016.

And this photo course is where it started - the first product we offered for the DYI minded host who want to know how to get started in bettering their listing, its performance, and their brand as a whole, which better photos being at the center of our focus, as the world of listings is a very visual game.

When we at O2O work with hosts, we analyze a listing from the guest perspective - from what we see on the listing site like Airbnb or VRBO and work backwards to answer a few questions:

1. Who is this place perfect for?
2. Who does the host want to attract?
3. What does the physical property and the area have to offer?
4. How do we combine all 3 to create a powerful listing?

And these are the points this photo course is designed to go through. We back up from the day-to-day grind of hosting and take you through really thinking about your brand, the guest's experience, to what consider before updating your photos, and how to get started.

We go over how to shoot a space just with your smartphone, touch on editing the photos, then how we like to craft the sequence.

The main purpose of the course is to teach better photography without any extra gear using only the phone in your pocket. Our team, whether doing remote photo shoots or working onsite, uses smartphones too for fabulous results.

Because it's not about the tool, it's about knowing how to use it and taking the time to plan ahead so that what you're photographing makes sense and serves a purpose - to attract your ideal guest and to show off what you've got in the best light, both literally and figuratively.

This course has been offered since 2016 and is gathering thanks and compliments from hosts enrolling in it still, in 2025. We offer it to hosts we work with to give them a better understanding of how our services and photo shoots work because all the basics still apply.
